How to change skincare routine after winter

In winter, all nature slows down its processes due to low temperatures and shorter days, and so does even our body, as science tells us. The skin renewal is slowed down, and due to cold temperatures, our sebum becomes more viscous, meaning less liquid. Therefore, the skin’s hydrolipid barrier becomes compromised, which can lead to irritation, redness and increased sensitivity, or even clogged pores and breakouts.

As a reaction, you may have used heavier and probably more than usual creams to protect your skin and stop itching or redness.

But it’s not just your face that suffers — the skin on your body also takes a hit. Thick, non-breathable clothing can trap sweat and bacteria, causing rashes and breakouts, especially on the back. Dryness becomes more noticeable, making the skin rough, itchy, and uncomfortable to the touch (for touch).
That’s why spring is the perfect time to restore and rejuvenate your skin — bringing back its softness, balance, and glow.

Spring skincare steps

To help your skin recover, we’ve put together a few simple skincare steps that your skin will be grateful for:

  1. Kickstart your skin in spring and relieve it from winter.
Spring is the time when you can help your skin get rid of these winter burdens. Daily soft peeling and deep pore cleansing will increase cell turnover and help to get back to radiant skin. But don’t use chemical peels or cleansers. They will burden your already vulnerable skin even further. Filabé’s mechanical cleansing is just perfect now, as no chemicals at all are used for the work. It’s all done with super soft tissue.

At the same time, your skin is nourished with 100% active ingredients. Avoiding any additives sets Filabé apart from all other cosmetic products, as it grants highly concentrated nutrition for your skin and fast and deep penetration of the ingredients to the deep layers of your skin. Just what your skin needs after the strains of winter.

  2. Stop using heavy creams.
Now is also the perfect time to stop using heavy creams. Raising temperatures make your sebum more liquid so it can freely flow to the surface of your skin and help prevent it from too much water loss. So light creams are sufficient. Use a cream with as few additives as possible (typically, this is a cream with a short list of ingredients). And also, make sure that you do not put any cream at night. Skin care brands encourage the use of more and more skin care products. But your skin doesn’t need it; it’s in regeneration at night, and layers on your skin are counterproductive now. Spring is the perfect time for a fresh start, making it the ideal moment to update your night skin care routine.

  3. Avoid additives in skincare at night.
If you are already using Filabé night care you can skip this point — you are already on the safe side 😊). If not… Conventional skin care products contain tons of additives, like fillers, fragrances, and preservatives. These are relevant for the product itself (creams, serums, masks) but a burden for your skin. And they prevent the delivery of highly concentrated nutrients. That is why creams put a nice feeling on your skin, but do not show much effectiveness in treating your skin.

Filabé changes all this: no chemicals for cleansing and now additives with the active ingredients. Only 100%, highly concentrated nutrients for your skin.

  4. Protect your skin from the sun to prevent early aging.
Even in early spring, UV rays can be strong. If you spend in direct sun more then 10 minutes — don’t forget to use sunglasses, hats and sunscreen for open parts of the body. Make it a habit, even on cloudy days, to prevent premature aging and pigmentation. If you use SPF, look for a broad-spectrum of at least 30 for optimal protection. Choose a lightweight, non-comedogenic sunscreen.

  5. Have your spring cleansing day!
Spring is a good time for renewal. And a good point in time to clean out your stock of products: maybe your make-up brushes are not that hygienic anymore; throw away expired make-up products, get rid of heavy make-up bases and let your skin breathe without layers of cosmetics.

  6. Don’t forget the neck, décolleté, and hands.
In spring we start to wear lighter clothes — don’t forget to protect all visible body parts from UV light (like neck and décolleté, neither forget your hands). These areas are often overlooked, and they are the fastest to show signs of aging, such as sagging skin, wrinkles, or pigmentation spots.

Transitioning from winter to spring doesn’t have to be complicated. By simplifying your skincare routine and focusing on pure, effective ingredients, you can restore your skin’s natural glow without unnecessary skincare steps. Filabé’s innovative, all-in-one solution is designed to give your skin exactly what it needs — nothing more, nothing less.

Say goodbye to winter dullness and hello to a fresh, radiant complexion this spring! 🌸
