Daily Beard Care – with Filabé
To the delight of many men, beards have been back in style for some time now. And we’re talking the whole spectrum: anything old-fashioned is considered “retro”, the three-day stubble has long been socially acceptable, and the full Robinson Crusoe beard is all the vogue in Hollywood. But regardless of the style, all beards need care!
Find out how to care for your beard with Filabé here...
The beard is alive
According to a recent study, the beard is a favorite spot for bacteria. The study makes the sensational claim that some beards contain more bacteria than a toilet! This is rightly concerning and disgusting, and can lead to skin irritation in the spaces between the hairs.
But keeping your beard clean isn't rocket science — as long as you use Filabé and keep your beard no longer than 5 mm. After all, we're not barbers. 😉
The well-groomed man
Generally speaking, men can be divided into two categories: those who hate beauty products and those who love them. The minimalist is a convinced “no-cream” guy; he’s allergic to fragrances and shaves with an electric razor.
The hedonist tries out every exciting new product from the beauty industry and is a proponent of the classic wet shave — preferably at the barber’s (which is also great for a style consultation — because not every beard style suits everyone).
Dry or wet?
Dry or wet shave? It’s simply a matter of preference; there’s no evidence that one is better or worse than the other. After shaving, grab a Filabé, dampen it briefly with water, and massage it over your face and beard for 40 seconds. Exactly — please don’t skip the beard — because what’s the point of an elegantly trimmed beard if the skin underneath and the beard hair aren’t taken care of?
With Filabé, the skin is deeply cleansed and gently exfoliated daily, which prevents ingrown beard hairs and the development of redness or skin irritation. The active ingredients in Filabé reach the skin directly after this deep cleansing, even if the beard grows over it.
Tough guys – soft skin
Even though we’re all tough guys — don’t be too rough with Filabé. Its microfibers are extremely effective, so it doesn’t require much pressure. Don’t scrub — otherwise your face will turn all red, and that doesn’t look very appealing!
Because the beard is exfoliated along with the skin, daily use will make the beard hair soft and the skin underneath smooth, even and free of blackheads and pimples. Clean skin, clean beard — it’s that simple.
And the full beard?
A distinctive face with a full beard is very trendy! If a man has a really long, wild beard, the Filabé cloth can barely get through it. In this case, Filabé is great for caring for the entire face, the beard line, and the neck and nape.
For the beard hair, use a soft brush (there are special beard brushes) and, during your daily shower, wash the beard with mild shampoo (there’s even beard shampoo) and pat it dry with a towel — blow-drying dries out the skin.
Important: Don’t pick at or stroke your beard with unwashed hands — even if this gesture underscores your reputation as a deep thinker! Because that’s exactly how food particles, sweat, and lots of bacteria get into your beard hair, and we definitely don’t want to give them a home there.
Not without my aftershave
Aftershaves have long been a part of men's grooming routines, and many swear by them. It disinfects, smells good, and leaves a pleasant cooling sensation on the skin. However, only a few aftershaves actually have a disinfecting effect — specifically, those with an alcohol content of over 60%. While alcohol is responsible for the fresh feeling on the skin, it doesn’t necessarily make it germ-free.
Our recommendation: Use Filabé immediately after shaving. This removes all bacteria and soothes the skin with its nourishing active ingredients.
If needed, follow up with a modern aftershave in the form of balms or lotions — completely alcohol-free. Alcohol dries out the skin, which is why dermatologists often advise against it.
