Online privacy policy of Filabé of Switzerland AG

Filabé appreciates your interest in and visit to our website. Protecting your privacy is important to us, which is why compliance with statutory provisions on data protection is a matter of course for us.

The following statement of Filabé’s privacy policy explains how Filabé collects, administers, and uses data about individuals online. The privacy policy only applies to information that Filabé receives from online sources that contain a link to this privacy policy. It does not apply to information from any other sources.

When using this website, you agree to the recording, collection, and use of information in accordance with this privacy policy. You also acknowledge that Filabé may replace, change, remove, or otherwise update the privacy policy at its own discretion and without any prior notice. It is Filabé’s intent to announce such changes on this page so that you are fully informed about the type of personal data Filabé collects, how it is used, and the circumstances under which Filabé provides information about it.

Filabé’s privacy policy is easy to find, as there is a link to it on every homepage and on every page on which personal data are requested. Based on the situation, further explanations may be provided in such places, for example about the intended use of the data. This privacy policy, with the additional explanations if applicable, describes how Filabé handles the personal data that you voluntarily provide when you use the Filabé website.

  1. Guarantee of privacy and/or personal data protection
In this statement of Filabé’s privacy policy, the term personal data comprises elements such as a name, date of birth, e-mail, and residential address or telephone number, i.e. data that may serve to identify an individual. As a rule, Filabé does not record any personal data without the consent of the individual concerned. However, in justified exceptional cases Filabé reserves the right to record additional data to the extent that this is legally possible or required. The following sections explain how and when Filabé records and collects personal data.
  2. Intended use of personal data
Most of Filabé’s web pages and functions do not require visitors to register personally. However, some services require registration. In these cases, a form must be completed on the website being visited on which certain fields are mandatory (required fields) and others are optional. In doing so, visitors must sometimes choose a user name and password. If required fields are left blank, access to the desired website is declined and Filabé cannot meet the request for the service.
Filabé records personal data for the purposes disclosed to the individuals concerned during the registration process and/or whenever personal data must be provided. For example, personal data may be recorded in order to provide customers with products or services, to invoice customers for ordered products and services, to present products and services that are of interest to customers, or to communicate with customers for other reasons. Filabé stores personal data in accordance with the applicable legal and ethical reporting and/or documentation duties.
  3. Confidentiality of personal data
Filabé does not sell, disclose, or distribute any recorded personal data to third parties, except in the cases described in our privacy policy.
Filabé may make personal data accessible to other global Filabé companies that have stated that they handle the data in accordance with this privacy policy. Furthermore, personal data may be made accessible to third parties that act on behalf of Filabé or are related to the business of the Filabé Group so that these third parties can further process the personal data in accordance with the original underlying purpose for recording it. For example, this relates to deliveries, analyses, or technical service.
Such third parties potentially comply with other privacy principles. However, Filabé endeavors to ensure that such third parties have a privacy policy with a high security standard comparable to that of Filabé. If necessary, Filabé - when appropriate - will ensure by means of a contract with the third party that the data provided to the third party are only used and processed for the express purpose designated by Filabé.
Recorded personal data may be provided to third parties in two other cases: Firstly, the operation of this website and therefore the customer data associated with the website may be sold or transferred. In this case, Filabé would require the new operator of the site to handle personal data in accordance with this privacy policy. Secondly, the disclosure of personal data may become necessary pursuant to the law, a decree, or a court order.
  4. Right of access and rectification and the right of deletion and revocation
If a visitor to a Filabé website discloses their personal data upon request, the visitor has an unrestricted right to access, edit, and delete these data. Furthermore, visitors can prohibit Filabé from contacting them. Anyone who would like to contact Filabé in connection with the use of their personal data is asked to send an e-mail to contact@filabe.ch. In case of a request, Filabé asks the name of the website on which the data were provided as well as the data that are to be corrected, updated, or deleted. Filabé responds to requests quickly and appropriately. Requests to delete personal data are responded to in consideration of all applicable legal and ethical archiving and documentation duties.
  5. Security and confidentiality
In order to ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data that are recorded by Filabé online, Filabé uses data networks that have state-of-the-art firewalls and password protection, among other things. Although Filabé cannot guarantee that the data will not be lost, misused, or changed, Filabé endeavors to avoid such incidents.
  6. Data transfer abroad
Filabé may transfer personal data to databases outside the individual concerned’s country of residence. Even if personal data are transferred to a country that does not require compliance with international data protection standards, Filabé nevertheless endeavors to ensure that an export of data to such a country is given adequate protection.
  7. Anonymous data, cookies, and tags
Filabé may record anonymous information about website visits, e.g. sites that are visited and searches that are carried out. Such anonymous information is used to better tailor the contents of the websites to customer needs and to gather statistics about the individual use of the websites for the purpose of internal marketing analyses. To this end, Filabé may install cookies that register the visitor's Internet provider as well as the date and time of a visit to one of its websites. The cookies used by Filabé do not serve to reveal an individual’s identity. A cookie is a small piece of information that is sent to browsers and stored on the hard drive of the respective computer. Cookies do not damage the computer. Users can configure their browsers in such a way that a message appears on their screen when a cookie is placed. This allows users to decide whether or not the cookie should be installed on the hard drive. Filabé may enlist the services of third parties for the collection and processing of the information described in this section. These third parties are subject to the same duties as described above in section 3.
Filabé may use Internet tags, also referred to as single-pixel GIFs, in connection with cookies on Filabé websites or allow them to be used by third parties. These tags are located on online advertising material that direct users to the website as well as multiple places on the website itself. Filabé uses this technology to measure visitor response to the website and the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. For example, this may include information about how often a page is opened and which information is retrieved. Tags and cookies enable a third party to collect anonymous data about visitors to other websites.
Filabé does not use tags or cookies to locate or collect information that may serve to identify individual visitors, e.g. names, addresses, e-mail addresses, or telephone numbers.
